Title: Megri lokanta
Post by: Christie on September 05, 2015, 17:24:22 PM
We haven't been to the megri lokanta for a good few years as we were really disappointed the last time we went which was probably 3/4 years back.  Has anyone been there recently, and if so, did they find it good ?  We did actually pop in when we were over in June to chat to one of the waiters, and we were thinking of trying it again this month, but would appreciate any comments.

We persevered with it till about the same time as you. Never been the same since Ugur (?) left - high prices, quality questionable and constant upselling.

It's a shame, it used to be a regular for me, especially at lunchtime if I was working locally.

Yep same here, never missed our trip to the Megri, and haven't been back since our disappointing visit of about 3 years ago.

We tried the megri lokantasi last year and that was the first and last visit. The guy who first spoke to us was chatty and friendly to begin with, but once we sat down it was as if we never existed. The food was average and the service were disappointing. At least by tying it we know not to go back again.  :)

Oh dear - think we might have to leave it off our list then.   Think we might give George's restaurant a try, we have never been there and it always gets good reports from Jacqui - might just try her recommendations.  Shame about the Megri lokanta, always enjoyed many nights there - very reasonable good food and lovely location, but don't want to waste a night being disappointed again.

We go to the Sahil Lokantasi instead now - it's location next to the traffic lights beside the original Migros can't compete with the Megri but it's a perfect, no nonsense no frills Lokanta. Great selection of dishes too. No alcohol :o

The Sahil's chicken soup is my fail-safe hangover meal.  :-[
Used to be a bacon & fried egg buttie back in the UK.

The new Limon H2O Locanta in Fethiye is very good and very popular with the locals
Opposite the PTT on the corner.

I would agree that that the Limon H2O lokanta is fantastic. we went 3 times, initially when we couldnt get into Mozaik. We then returned twice and recommended it to others who agree it has quality food , lovely setting  and reasonable in price. was always busy with locals too which I am sure must be a good thing! Jan

I read a glowing report about the Limon on F.B. from an English lady that lives in Fethiye.  Put it on our list to try.

Jacqui when you visit these places and they pass muster.  Do you present them with a plaque or perhaps a certificate, similar to Trip Advisor.  That the restaurant proprietor can place somewhere on their entrance area, so that they can attract the right sort of discerning clientele that your recommendation would attract? : :) : :)

Had a laughter at this, you don't know just how correct your post is, not annoyed at all, I think USB has a crysal ball... or two...   ;) :-X .

My friends who are a Turkish man and his English wife had meals there and described it all on F.B. sounded wonderful and the bill was 52TL.
This may be the ideal place to go if the Mozaik Bahce is full or your visit is on a Sunday.

I have never been to Mozaik Bahce either, usually stick to cafe Genis or Mulberry when in Fethiye.

Pop over the road to Hippy Chick when you visit Mulberry. Lovely Lynda Yilmaz and her handmade Greetings Cards and jewellery and her equally lovely husband Yakup who has been a great help to us  He is an Official Interpreter.
