We’re considering going on a day trip to Rhodes on the new ferry/catamaran thing when we visit Calis Beach later this month.
I have a question, and hope somebody can help. Where about in Rhodes does it dock, and are there restaurants, bars, beaches, in nearby walking distance of the port? We’d hate to go for the day and end up in the middle of nowhere!
Any info, suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks

It docks in the cruise ship port and it's a very short walk to the town.

The Old Town is no more than 5 minutes walk from where it docks, the (modern) town centre is just after that and if you keep the sea on your right there is a lovely beach 10-15 minutes walk away.

It's a great day out ColinT. Rhodes Old Town is beautiful with lovely eating places, bars and shops.

Does anyone have the Ferry times going and return and prices , thanks

ok i have found them online , can you pay on the day ?
-
I don't think that you can turn up & pay on the day. Never seen it happen in numerous trips to Rhodes

Thanks .do you just go to the harbour and book at an office there ?

I've always booked with Yesil Dalyan, their office is almost opposite the gate to Ece Saray marina, but there are several tour companies where you can book. You're asked to be at the port 1 hour before sailing, as there's security & passport control formalities before you board.

Think you can book at Tilos office, next to MacDonalds in town.

I've always booked with Yesil Dalyan,
I don't think they run it anymore.

Thanks for the info, we will probably give it a go, may even escape to Greece on Turkish Election Day and that way we can guarantee a few beers with our lunch, ha ha
