I was rippped off in my gym last night(cant wait to get back there tonight grrrr).    The gym owner has another guy working for him now.  I gave the new guy 1 lira for a small bottle of water and he never gave me my change back.(normally 50 kurus).  I did not say anything at the time as I know the main gym owner (Klas) is an honest guy.  I am waiting to speak to him over it.    I have not forgotten the guy in another shop who tried to charge me 7.5 lira for a bottle of water.

Last year I could not get a flight to Dalaman, so ended up in Luxor, Egypt instead. If you think short changing is a problem in Turkey, try going to Egypt. They take youtr money and tell yo they have NO change tikll you threaten them with the Tourist Police (whivh means a beating!) In nine visits to Ftehiye, I can honestly say that I have never been sriously short changed - however in Egypt it happened with very transaction!
