Are PS2s any cheaper in Turkey, want to take one over for apartment as it plays DVDs ,Cd's and of course game's. In TESCO they are only £99 , but are they cheaper over there.  Do Turkish PS2s play UK games or do UK play Turkish aequivalent please advise [?]

They are more expensive in Turkey.

Cheaper in Rhodes, if anyone living here wants one, that's the place to go.

All PS2 games will play in all PS2's.

Whilst Turkish and British games are compatible not all PS2 games will play in all PS2's. You can play all European format games on the same machine, Japanese on the same, Chinese on the same or US on the same but not mix them. The only way of mixing the different formats is to use software like Swap Magic or similar. The way of telling is to look at the format types on the box - see below.
Japan and Asia: NTSC/J, North America: NTSC-U/C, Europe and Oceania: PAL, and China: NTSC/C
Unless your machine is chipped dont bother buying copies from local traders. We have one in our place in Fethiye and there is no problem with power supply voltage difference.

Quite right Sir

I did mean all Turkish/British ones will work - you are quite correct about PAL/NTSC - and of course copies.

Not certain about PS2 but DVD players in Turkey use Zone 2 which is exactly the same as those in the UK :)

Tribalelder is right here.  It is possible to play multi-region DVDs on a Region 2 PS2 but you need one of the DVD swapping cds such as Region-X.

Hi Trainer. You can buy on E-Bay or in a lot of computer game stores. Just type into Google search.
