Go to the customer service desk in Migros and they will show you how to use it.........Ours covered 7/8 bottles of spirits last Xmas.
It runs on a yearly basis so you may have lost out on any spends in 2006.  CarreFour are still swiping Gima cards. :)

Bummer. I always use the Migros card, I have purchased 2 bikes and TV with it. If I'd have known that it runs on a yearly basis I would have given the card to an expat to claim the points. Never mind.

I don't know whether the Migros cards have changed but when we were there at the beginning of the month, we got a discount on most items when using the card.  You have to give it to the cashier before she starts swiping things though.  I still haven't got the hang of it though and don't quite know how it works.

With a Migros card there is a discount on certain items that you'll see clearly marked as you go around the store.

At the checkout, He/She'll probably say " Migros card var mi ? " You say "Var" and hand over the card to be swiped, and they'll return it to you.

You'll get the discount taken off when she/he has finished scanning your goods.

You also get points added to your card and can get discount vouchers and/or a "Migros Cheque" from the machine at the entrance. See one of the staff at the desk, or, the Security Guards are quite helpful too.

Simpler than Tesco's or Sainsbury's really !

Thanks KayaKoyuOldboy
I knew you needed the card for the specials but wasn't aware of discount vouchers/cheques.
