BBC World Service - Radio

HI

I have done a search but found nothing about radio recption, does anyone manage to get the World Service via radio? If so what are the best frequencies? I imagine residents will have no need for this if you are on the net but as we only visit a radio link would be good.

Thanks

The World Service is usually found on short wave although it appears Turkey only gets a partial service, i.e. only certain programmes are broadcast.  You *may* pick up signals meant for neighbouring countries, worth having a look at the World Service Home Page

Years ago(before the internet) when I lived in Antalya My little Shortwave radio was a life saver, although the frequency used to drift in and out depending on what time of day or night it was.

Hiya,

Fethiye Times covered this recently here http://www.fethiyetimes.org.uk/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=viewid=908itemid=71. As you will see you can also pick up Auntie on Medium Wave in the evenings direct from Cyprus.

Are you paying a subscription for this? How much is it? All my channels except for BBC World are coded. I used to enjoy listening to news about traffic jams in Norwich on Virgin while I was on my roof terrace.

Thanks
