Hi guys, just to bring it vaguely back on topic (postings have been very funny :D), the Burns Night Supper is now definitely a goer.  It will take place upstairs at the Lighthouse Restaurant on Friday 25 January.  Tickets will be limited to 60 people. We are sorting out the haggis and there will be a a starter and a veggy and alternative option and one of the sweets will be their famous baked ice-cream. We are working out the final costings and will post the ticket price shortly. It should be a great night, address to the haggis, piper if we can get one (please  :)), scottish dancing and music so dig out the tartan and kilts (although not compulsory). If you would like to put your name down for advance tickets please e-mail me via the forum or through the calis carnival website www.caliscarnival.com

You are perfectly correct to reprimand us Chrissie.

All the very best for a successful night on 25 January. Hope you all have a splendid night.

I am now pleased to report that we have an authentic piper who has kindly offered to pipe in the haggis and play the pipes during the evening.  We may also have a scottish dance demonstration by a young lad who has just moved out to Calis.

The price of the evening is being confirmed tomorrow when I will post the ticket price.  :D

Dear Pi55y, I should thought that with Kurban Bayram on the near horizon, that there wouldn't be any shortage of "Plucks" or any type of the lovely ingredients required to make "The Beastie".
Sorry couldn't help with the piper, but glad you got it sorted.
Gordy.
