After a night out in Chesterfield we had a taxi home the driver was very friendly and it was obvious she was from Turkey, we got chatting and found she has lived in Chesterfield with her English husband for 10 years 500yds from us.
When I asked where she was from in Turkey she said her home was Fethiye and she still has her house their where they go very often. In typical Turkish style when she dropped us off she gave us both her mobile numbers her house number in Turkey and insisted when we are over there we ring and go to dinner with them.

Beautiful  :)

When Yetkin & I did the exhibition at Excel, we stayed a couple of nights at the West Ham Stadium hotel (lovely place, lovely people). Strange having a premiership football stadium and pitch as your view but recommended.

Anyway, turned out the chef was Turkish - and we must be the first guests at Upton Park to have a full range of Mezes as our starter  :) Nothing was too much trouble, maybe they should add it to the menu.

Mark it wasnt Behiye by any chance was it, she used to work in the chip shop up the road from us. Last summer we spent some time with her and her son while we were in Turkey. She is lovely and last time I spoke to her she said she was leaving the chippy and going to be a taxi driver.

bring a group from my regiment to Sogucak ,outside  Kusadasi each year.  first year we are eating in local restaurant each night.  owner is ex army . day 4 ,three of the lads make their way to Pasha's ,only to find him heading to town for supplies. its 2oc and the place is locked up until 6pm.  what does he do?  he gives the keys to the lads and shows them where the beer is .  see me later he says.  they tell him how many  beers they took but also produced the empty bottles to prove it. no need for that he says.  if i didnt trust you i would'nt have given you the keys.    where would you get it? only in turkey
