Hi All,

I have been reading about Mugla, it seems as though it,s a  very interesting place to visit while we are in Calis, but i have no idea where it is from Calis!!  would we be able to get a dolmus from fethiye to it?? If not any ideas how we would get there??

Any more information on Mugla would be very helpfull..

Too far for a dolmus, but a long bus ride away, you ought to consider staying over.

We drove there. Took all day to get there and back but we did divert to a nice (but windy) seaside resort at the bottom of the hill that takes you up to the town - can't remember the name of the place, my map is at the apartment. The older part of town is interesting to walk around, the modern part less so. No tourists and Turkish prices and hospitality that we no longer get (except for isolated pockets) in the Fethiye area. As you leave the town and come down the hill the views across the bay are fantastic. Very big covered market, I got a shave and a haircut for 7 lira, against the 21 lira the robbing scum in Hisaronu try to charge.

Travelling to mugla is a very straight forward route, just head for Dalaman and instead of turning left towards the airport, just keep going following the signs. Its a nice drive on relatively quiet roads (compaired with the UK). We looped around Mugla on a drive upto Izmir and I would say it takes about 2 1/2 hours in a car at the most, but maybe 3hrs in a coach. If driving in Turkey doesn't bother you, i would suggest hiring a car and doing your own thing.
