Haggis appeal

If anyone is coming out in the next few weeks for Christmas or travelling back from UK after Christmas/New Year that has a space in their suitcase, the Carnival committee are looking for people to bring out haggis for their Burns supper night on 25 January.  You can usually buy them in Tescos etc and they weigh about 450 gm  each.

It is essential that those who may offer are coming out on direct flights so that there are no long stopovers at Istanbul etc as we need to get the haggis into the freezer as soon as possible.

Alternatively, I understand from Nessie that Grants tinned haggis is just as good if anyone is able to source it - although tins are heavier.

The Carnival committee will reimburse you for the cost of the haggis.

If you think that you may be able to help please e-mail me.

Thanks
Chrissie

Greg the Sausage King was going to make it for us the first year but he had a problem getting the plucks :D

It is much simpler to bring it over  :) We bought 25 over last year but unfortunately we have a long stopover this time

Hi Chrissie,
Just noticed Grant's Tinned Haggis in our local supermarket It comes in tins of 393gms they are selling it for £1.90 a tin.  I also note that Grants sell Catering tins weighing  1.2 k. (they don't have it in the supermarket, but it's probably in Makro.
I would donate a few tins if anyone that lives near me is going over.  Alternatively, I could send you a few tins if you have a safe address to send them.  I know people have problems getting parcels over with you.
Jacqui.
