I was browsing my bank account on line today to see the total extent of the damage done this month and noticed a debit of £49 to Amazon. Knowing I'd purchased nothing recently I immediately rang the disputed payment department. It turns out that in July I made a small £4 purchase . At the time I was offered to 'trial' the 'next day delivery' which I opted for. Apparently 30 days later I received an email from Amazon (I get about 20 a week from Amazon tempting me to spend money and just trashed it). That email was important as it was advising me that unless I unsubscribed from the next day service my bank account would be debitted with the annual charge - the £49 they took today Now the girl at the must get a lot of people like me as she had the Amazon complaints number to hand. I rang them and because I haven't used the 'Service' they've creditted the £49 back to me but I wonder how many other thousands have fallen for this charge?
