Booked our May trip from Gatwick last August with Easyjet.

Including baggage and credit card charge £217 for 2.

Our September 2012 trip is £434.

We booked our May 2012 trip last August and paid £367 for 2 people its now £544....  also booked our september 2012 trip back in November and paid £210 for 2 people and now its £466 ....the increase is without the case and credit card charges  :o

makes sense to book as early as possible if you can... certainly save a lot of money doing that..

Great price for May Cheers, we saw them at that sort of price but when you have to check holiday dates with work and some people take forever to say that all is ok,  the prices rise up !!! i now ask just before they are coming on sale so i am ready for when they are put on line for sale, you learn from experience...

But what is going on?

For the last 3 years we have always booked after February and last year we paid £168 each including baggage. This year the flights are £450 plus.........   Hope this is just a 2012 thing and doesn't continue.

Forgot to add, when we did finally book with Monarch, we used their website to book the Airport parking and got the following offers:

Birmingham - 3 weeks in August with APH - £77
Luton - 2 weeks in May + Meet & Greet - £43

Under normal circumstances we would have already booked our flight ex MCH/DLM for the following Jan (normally 2nd)with TC however even
if we had the confidence to book with them so far ahead, they are not even showing flights for Dec let alone Jan!

We did book ahead June 2011 for our July 2012 holiday, but was with Aegean wasnt it so lost those flights. Have only just been able to manage to book new flights for this July with Monarch and they were £371 each in the school hols. It has cost us over double what we had originally paid.  These prices take me back to the days when to go for the 6 wks holidays we had to drive from the Midlands to Heathrow, fly to Istanbul with Turkish Airlines change planes and then fly onto Dalaman, good times though all the same.
