With ref to the first post, We bought a decoder & dish etc and were told that the card we had was not a pukka one and if the channels got scrambled to take the card back to the shop and they will re program it for you. We have done this once and it was still rubbish so had to get the shop out to the system. They took the decoder away to re program and it was ok after that. Don't know what it will be like this year though? We were told by one turkish guy that they take their card back about 2 or 3 times a year. Bit of a pain when you go over for a holiday to have to do it though. wish I knew before I bought it.

We're getting a telly but only to play the odd DVD on. To be honest I really don't miss it while we're away (too many bars and too little time LOL!)

That's exactly why we only took the £160 all in package Val.  A few music channels for our daughter and a couple more English channels.  DVD player if we want to watch a movie when we get home for the night. Although to be honest I don't think I've watched one right through yet!

Similar problems with our digibox system...now only two or three programmes in English although we are sussing our way round the weather forcast in Turkish now!
I am told the boxes need regular reprogramming to avoid pay per view chanels(our system does not have a card)
Does anyone know if we went on to Digiturk or similar can we use the two existing dishes[?]

Come on all you brits out there why go to a beautiful country like Turkey and spend your holiday watching the same rubbish you can watch for the rest of the year at home, wheres your sense of adventure. If I lived in Turkey all year then maybe I would consider Digiturk but I like to make the most of my 7 weeks n the sun and this does not include veging in front of the box.
