You're absolutely right Kanga - I don't even watch TV at home much 'cos most of it is tripe! The TV and DVD player will just be there for the odd evening in or during the cooler months.

It's not the watching of the thing.  It's the fact that it's in the corner making a noise lol

Those who live in Turkey 24/7/365 when it's hissing down on a dark night in November would find a bit of The idiots lantern very theraputic. :)
I am sure 99% of those who knock it "Doth protest too loudly" (shakespeare)

652 channels? You were done. We had the same problem so we took the receiver to OZKAN on the one way street out of Fethiye, behind the Bazaar area, almost opposite Arcelik. They retuned it for 10TL and now we have 1000 channels, some blank, most rubbish. We had to go into the menu and delete a whole batch of channels because I think some of our guests wouldn't have been happy to come down and find there 5 year olds watching Italian hard core at 8 in the morning.
Wish we hadn't bought the thing in the first place but with 5 teenagers....

The ads on Turkish TV drive me up the wall.. little gas bottles bouncing across the screen I seem to remember 'Aygaz' I think it was.

Beyaz show and the Zager (something like that) was quite funny if only I could understand it. For me the best channel of all for the awful Turkish pop videos is KRAL. If you like cheese watch KRAL.
