Calis Christmas Fair
« on: November 19, 2013, 07:52:31 AM »
There are less than three weeks to go to the Calis Christmas fair and with well over 170 confirmed  stall bookings it is going to be HUGE!

The 7th Çalış Christmas Fair takes place on Sunday 8 December  and this year's fair promises to be the biggest ever and will be bustling and brimming with festive bargains. Organisers, Çalış Children’s Charity are hoping for a record turnout  - and good weather - so are asking all the 10,000 members of CBF to send positive thoughts for sunshine this year!

The colourful traditional festive fair which attracts stallholders and visitors by the coach-load from all over the Mugla area, takes place along in and around the restaurant’s on Çalış seafront from 11.00 am to 5.00 pm

As well as an abundance of stalls selling traditional Christmas decorations, tree ornaments, garlands, candles, cards, cakes, preserves, chutneys, pickles and a myriad of other Christmas items there will be lots of craft stalls. Some of the more unusual items on sale at the fair will include driftwood boat art, wrought iron gifts, handmade flowers, decoupage, stained glass,  wooden toys and carvings, hand made soaps, felt items, paper craft butterflies, leather jewellery and stone garden ornaments as well as all styles of paintings and hand-made and knitted garments. Many of the stalls are coming from as far away as Kas, Kalkan and Marmaris.

There will also be a number of charity stalls from across the area raising money for various good causes. Fair organisers, the 3C’s whose charity stalls will all be located next to Santa’s winter wonderland grotto at Azure properties (between the Nil and Old bambu restaurants) will not only be running a huge tombola but will also be selling delicious home-made cakes and savouries, hand knitted items, crafts and gifts including a lovely selection of  beautiful glass paperweights. They will also be raffling a magnificent Christmas hamper and imported spirits and festive fare from the UK so make sure you buy some tickets.

For the youngsters (and a lot of the adults!) the highlight of the day will be at 1.00 when Father Christmas arrives in his decorated sleigh along with his elf, fairy and other character helpers.  Santa will then take up residence in his grotto and children can visit him and receive a present for a small charge.

The 3C’s Father Christmas has a very hectic schedule as not only is he preparing for the fair but he is also visiting some of the local schools in the run up to Christmas.   You may also get a glimpse of him riding around Çalış and Fethiye on the Saturday afternoon, before the Christmas Fair.

Çalış Christmas Fair will be a great family day out. It is an ideal place to pick up Christmas presents as well as unusual little stocking fillers and to stock up on your Christmas food goodies as well as a great chance to meet friends and get into the festive spirit (the bar and restaurant owners will be more than happy to oblige!!!!)

All money raised from the hire of stalls (net of table and tarpaulin costs) along with sales from the 3C’s charity stalls will go towards the Çalış Children’s Charity, helping children in the local area.

Please make a note of the date in your diary  - Sunday 8 December

The Calis Christmas Fair is now full!  With close on 200 stalls it will be the biggest ever.
If you have not booked your stall yet, I am afraid it is now too late to do this. However we are running a reserve list in case we receive any cancellations when we ring round  all of the stallholders with set up details on the Friday before the fair. Here's to a great day  :)
