Fethiyespor managed to pick up their 3rd away point of the season with a creditable 0-0 draw, away at 5th placed Bandirmaspor this afternoon. That point keeps Fethiye in 14th place in the league but puts the gap between them and the 3rd from bottom team to 5 points.
A home match next Sunday for Fethiye as they face that side who are 3rd from bottom, Karsiyaka from Izmir. The last time the 2 sides met in Fethiye in 2013 the Karsiyaka ran out winners 3-0.Hopefully Fethiye can carry on their recent improvement under new coach Levent Eris.

Fethiyespor could only manage a 0-0 draw at home to Karsiyaka this afternoon in their last home game before the winter break. It was a game of few chances, the best for Fethiye being an Umut Sozen free kick in the first half which was just wide of the visitors goal. The visitors from Izmir who were being cheered on by 300 or so supporters hit the crossbar early in the second half but that was it for clear cut chances.
Fethiye move up to 13th in the league on 15 points, still 5 points above the relegation zone. An away match next weekend in the capital against 6th placed Bugsas who warmed up for that game winning 5-0 away from home today. However Fethiye have a good record there, not having lost on their last 4 visits. Their last visit in Mar 2016 ended up with a 1-0 victory.

Fethiyespor had an afternoon to forget in Ankara as they lost 3-0 to Bugsas ,which was the teams first defeat under new boss Levent Eris. The hosts went ahead in the 2nd minute of first half injury time when centre forward Emre Torun scored.Fethiye held out until 18 mins from time when Bugsas scored their 2nd goal and then added a 3rd in the 81st minute.
Fethiye move down to 14th in the league, 4 points clear of the relegation zone. No more league action until January 21st when Fethiye are back in the capital to play 7th placed Hacettepe.

Fethiyespor return to league action this Sunday following the mid season break. They are in Ankara to face 7th placed Hacettepe, who they beat 1-0 at home in the first game of the season. However Hacetteppe are 7 places and 13 points above Fethiye in the league table and are unbeaten at home so far this season, and have beaten Fethiyespor on their last 3 visits to their ground. A draw would be a good result for Fethiye.

Fethiyespor started the second half of the season much the same way they finished the first half, with a defeat in the capital. Before the winter break they lost 3-0 at Bugsas and this afternoon they lost 3-1 at Hacettepe.
Fethiye had 4 of their 7 new signings making their debuts, with a further 2 on the subs bench and at half time the score was 0-0.However the hosts won the game with 2 second half goals within 6 minutes of each other. Umut Sozen scored his 5th goal of the season with 6 mins remaining to give Fethiye some hope but Hacettepe added a 3rd goal as the game entered into injury time.
Fethiye remain 14th in the league with 15 points.Next Sunday they host Pendikspor from Istanbul who they drew with 0-0 earlier in the season.
Pendik are currently 2 places and 6 points above Fethiye and they beat Fethiye 2-0 on their last visit a year ago.

Fethiyespor managed to snatch a point from the jaws of defeat with a 2-2 draw against Pendikspor this afternoon. On a lovely sunny afternoon and with 4 of their 9 transfer window signings starting,Fethiye struggled to get going in the first half with the visitors from Istanbul looking the better team. The big turning point in the game occurred in the 35th min when centre half Efe Karaoglu conceded a penalty and received a red card with Pendik's Yaser converting from the penalty spot.
The second half started much the same as the first but after 50 mins Fethiye boss Levent Eris made a bold substitution, taking off midfielder Dada and bringing on forward Berat Tosen. Fethiye looked a different team and on 62 mins Ustun Bilgi scored his 1st goal for the club since his transfer from Bandirmaspor, with a flying header. However only 4 minutes later the visitors were in front again when Yaser got his 2nd goal of the game.
Fethiye looked to be down and out with 16 mins to go when midfielder Umut Sozen was stretchered off with Fethiye having used all 3 subs, but the 9 men of Fethiye were not to be denied and with 11 mins remaining Mustafa Diler scored his 1st goal for the club following his move from Manisa.
Thats the way it stayed and that point keeps Fethiye in 14th place but they are now only 2 points clear of the relegation zone. A very tough away match next weekend when they face league leaders Gumushane who are currently 13 places and 23 points above Fethiye, and won 2-0 at Fethiye earlier in the season. Maybe boss Levent Eris can pull off a surprise result against his former team.

My man of the match, new signing 22 year old Mustafa Diler.

Nice to see some hair on a Fethiyespor player. ;D

Well for just over an hour it looked like Fethiyespor could pull off a shock result and inflict the league leaders first home defeat of the season. After only 16 mins a long range shot from Metin Sevinc found the back of the net to give Fethiye the lead. Fethiye had 6 of their 14 transfer window signings in the starting 11 with a further 6 on the subs bench and they kept their lead upto the 62nd minute when the hosts drew level. After that Fethiye went to pieces and Gumushane added 3 more goals in the last 18 mins to give them a 4-1 victory.
A bad day at the office for Fethiye who were the only team in the bottom 5 to lose today and they move down to 15th in the league, just 1 point above the bottom 3.
A must win home game for Fethiye next week when they host Black Sea side Zonguldak who are 3 places but 9 points above Fethiye in the league. Zonguldak beat Fethiye at home 2-1 earlier in the season but last season at Fethiye it was the home side who came back from the dead to win 4-3 after being 3-0 down with just 13 mins left.

Fethiyespor began a run of 3 important games in 8 days when they played host to Zonguldak this afternoon. The club reduced admission prices by half for this match and were rewarded with a slightly larger crowd. However the 1st half was dire with neither goalkeeper having to make a save and the game punctuated by numerous fouls from a physical Zonguldak side. With only 1 minute of the 1st half left a quick Fethiye break from new signing Anil Tasdemir, gave the ball to Yigit Gokoglan whose shot found the corner of the net via the base of the post, for his 4th goal of the season.
The second half was better with both teams pressing for a goal. Fethiye produced several half chances but the visitors nearly equalised with a header from a corner 7 mins from time. Fethiye held out for the win, their first in 7 matches.Fethiye back up to 14th in the league and were the only team in the bottom 5 to win today.
Fethiye are away on Wednesday at Kahramanmarasspor who are 15th in the table, only below Fethiye on goals scored. This would be an ideal time for Fethiye to record their first away win of the season. However the last 4 meetings between these sides have all ended in draws.
