I bought a pear tree grafted on to dwarf root stock early this year.I was concerned when it did not flower, and obviously there was no fruit this summer.I contacted the supplier and was informed that that particular type of tree takes 3 years to flower.:(.Och well, better late than never.

We have one we purchased last year, this year we had a very small pear that lasted a few weeks. Here's hoping for next year!

My in laws planted a pear tree in their garden in Ovacik four years ago not a flower or a pear since....their gardener says because there isn't another pear tree close by for it to be fertilised-so maybe you have to plant two?

It needs flowers to be pollinated. If there were 40 trees nearby it still wouldn't produce fruit. Sounds like it's a dud.
