What words or phrases do you like to hear or say when in Turkey
For me one I like most is 'iyi aksamlar' (e-ak-shamlar) which means good evening. Another is Çok güzel (Chalk-a-cell). I just like the sound of the words.
How about you?

dont take this the wrong way but "cok guzel" is pronounced like
chok goozel. Well done for trying Stuart

"Indirim var" always sounds good to me.

I think in Gunlukbasi Twin Bee's pronunciation is closer
I reckon you can't do any better than (and I don't know the Turkish spelling) than my good friend, Shirley Burly.

A good phrase to reply with when quoted the first price for goods or services is "Ben Aptal Miyim? " ( Do I Look Stupid? )

Doksan Altmis Doksan.......A slightly sexist way to refer to an attractive female figure...(90 60 90):D

only trouble learning phrases from you codgers ;) is whether the translations are correct. you guys would'nt set up a greenhorn . would ya! eh :D:D looking at the photos of scunner, tinkerman ,highlander
and follow through with kkob (no photo yet ). butter would'nt melt in your mouths. ;) see your smiling already.

Only used it once when I was getting a load of old flannel from a builder - boktan - bullsh-t!!

I love the Turkish language and I think all the words are beautiful Even the word peas sounds fabulous peas = bezelye. I am so in love with this language.

Karinca (pronounced Karunja) = Ant
I like that one too.

if you get some bedava boktan and put it on your bezelye it will keep the karincas away

Seni seviyorum is like music to my ears, only trouble is I have read it in a phrase book ! " I love you" is our translation. :)

I didn't know that there WAS such a word as free in Turkey. Now I find there are 2. lol.!!! Shame no one has ever said it to us. Oh No I remember now. Thank you Ahmet. The only one.!!

You will often see it in Migros.....50% Bedava ....+ bir bedava etc. Don't tell me you have missed all those freebies!!:D
