Thinking of coming out to Turkey next month, iv'e only ever flown into Dalaman.
Looking at Antalya, can anyone tell me an approx transfer cost Antalya to Hisaronu/Fethiye
and approx travel times ?
Thanks in advance.
-
About three and a half hours and 25tl each way.
-
I drove it and it was a lovely experience. Then I drove it again and it was a bit samey. Then I drove it again and felt strong urges to kill myself. It's not so bad Kevin, try to sleep ;)
-
Thanks both.
I meant a private transfer rather than a bus.
The Antalya stop overs seem shorter than Dalaman ones at Istanbul
I didn't realise it was a three and a half trip.
Back to the drawing board. :)
-
I read recently that a Fethiye company would do a one way transfer for £90 Kevin. If that is of interest I'll try and remember where I read it.
-
I prefer going via Istanbul then flight down to Dalaman.
-
Was the clue to kevin3's question in the title ;)
-
I prefer a Caribbean cruise. ;)
-
In January so would I. ;D
I need to come out for a week and want to travel Brum/Hisar The cheapest/quickest route.
The prices seem to drop after the first week in January but Turkish Airlines have some long stop overs.
-
Pegasus are doing it for £90.
-
Thanks Fran, i'll look it up.
-
That's pretty good £90. I've usually paid £70 for Dalaman > Calis.
Will have to check them out as heading over in January too.
But as Ray mentioned - I'm still not sure whether to do Antalya or Istanbul. Fancy the chance of flying with Turkish Airlines too. A real airline.
-
It's £90 one way.

There is a Facebook group called Airport Transfers to the Fethiye Area
We used the site to "share" to come from Antalya in November and paid £25 for the two of us to go with someone who was on our plane. Admittedly this was a lady being picked up by her partner so be aware there is often no insurance cover on these types of arrangements and never provide addresses in the public domain as thieves get to know when you are vacating your property. On this occasion the people / vehicle and journey were superb and we made a new friend!
As a tip we generally get picked up at a local hotel - 250 yards away - to avoid drivers knowing where we live :-)
On the same Facebook site we arranged a transfer to Dalaman in the past few months which was just a group of people making up to 8 passengers using a regulated Pegasus people carrier and we paid £5 each - and no getting picked up 4 hours before the flight like you sometimes do on a shared transfer :-)
You would be surprised how many people are on the same plane going to the same place - you just have to find them and then get organized :-)

Ian
Thats the Internet for you, far more independence for you, customise your own travel.
Fran
Thanks for that, the Pegasus stop overs are a lot shorter than Turkish, no Brum though.
So it looks like Stanstead-Istanbul-Dalaman. With all the add-ons it comes out at about £230 return pp.
Keith
Thanks for the transfer heads up but Antalya looks out of it.
Must remember to pack the electric blanket. ;) Thanks all.

Sorry Kev, that was the cost of a transfer from Antalya to fethiye, in a private taxi. There is a company called transfer only, which do it for £35 one way, in a shared transfer, they drop you at Fethiye otogar.
-
checked at otorgar in fethiye today. buses run from antayla to fethiye at 0630 and 12 a.m. cost 32 lira one way. really depends when u land at antayla.
-
Jack normally use this service twice a year but surprised how price has gone up from 20/25ish to 32tl, although I am aware of fuel prices over there! maybe they are already building in the inflation stats?

Quote from Ian:
There is a Facebook group called Airport Transfers to the Fethiye Area
Do you have a link to this Ian?
Also Fran do you have the link to transfer only?
We would be looking to do Fethiye to Antalya
-
Marggie it's www.transferonly.com
-
Marggie - can't see / find how to copy the link on my tablet - but if you just type the title airport transfers to the fethiye area into the search box on Facebook it will come up.
You have to apply to join as it is a closed group but normally joining is confirmed very quickly.
-
Many thanks Fran & Ian. Have put a request in to join the group. :) :)
-
I have just joined the Facebook group (cheers Bernie)

And have asked the guy who usually sorts my transfers out first but will be looking for a transfer for 2 of us from Antalya on 21st Jan (Thomas Cook landing at 17:20) to Fethiye.
I'll let you know how we get on.
