Title: Is SGK going On Line?
Post by: Ian on January 18, 2013, 23:38:06 PM
Saw this posted elsewhere - then I logged onto TEB and found there was an option in payments but when I tried to go further it said something like - on vacation at this time - but looks promising?

This quote was likely NOT from the Fethiye area

I haven't seen anything posted but in case anybody doesn't know, we have just this week taken up the SGK health insurance where upon we were given a sheet of paper quoting all details including that you can pay online, having then gone to the bank to sort out our internet we checked it out and yes it's correct you can pay it online, great news makes things a lot easier. Apologies if this has already been stated.

You always have been able to have DD with Turkish banks, such as Ziraat, Vakif and Halk, but you do need an account with them. As they are Turkish banks the interest rates are not good, so very few foreigners use them.

We use TEB and leave what we call monthly / emergency money in ING so it might be worth leaving ING and putting this money in one of those?

Cheers

So you can pay SGK at Garanti? I thought it was only the nationalised Turkish banks

BagKur, not sure same applies to SGK though.
