The Halifax Clarity Card will give you the best rate, always No.1 on the website above.
We are in Tenerife just now and the rate advertised on the Change Offices last week was 1.32 Euro for Sterling.

Only use any credit card(and I agree Halifax Clarity card gives the best rate) for purchases. It is very bad news to draw cash on any credit card.

We got 1.40 a couple of weeks ago in Spain, but it is now 1.35 - still a good rate.

Martin Lewis's website gives the Halifax Clarity Card the best way to get your money going abroad, no ATM fees and low interest rate.  We have never drawn money, but it does not seem to be expensive to do so.
We do always make our shopping purchases with the card.
