« on: December 17, 2006, 16:50:54 PM »
I thought some members might enjoy another bout or two of brain teasers - deluded idiot you may well say !

Once again, the number at the end of the question indicates its alleged degree of difficulty out of a hundred. The lower the number the harder it's meant to be.

Why the teaser is solved I'll post the answer in red next to the question so you need not torture yourselves too much

Here we go:

Q1. How do you express the number twelve hundred thousand twelve hundred and twenty two

     51 1,201,222 Alibaker

Q2. Professor Plumb's home is decorated entirely in purple. His walls, lamps, floors, chairs, everything is purple. Why do you suppose he doesn't have purple stairs ?

     39 a bungalow Scunner

Q3. Take a look at the Roman Numeral for 9:  IX

Can you add one character to this figure so that it is turned into an even number ?

     14 S Scunner

Q5. Without a bridle or a saddle
Across a bridge I ride astraddle
And those I ride, by help of me
Though almost blind are made to see

    What I'm I ?
9 A pair of spectacles Amca

Q6. Why do the Irish drink more than the Welsh

62 [red}There are more of them Scunner

Q7. More below than up above
    By mighty current led
Cold, but warming in the sun
    Has many tears to shed

    What is it ?

27 An iceberg Scunner (he who really hates these)

Q8. What am I ?

    Its related to sport
    And related to law
    Its what you did
    Before wedding bells you saw

48 Court Alibaker AND Amca - amazingly only 4 seconds between posts

Q9. It's a change of direction
    Or an order of priority
It can be one that's over
    Out, on or off

    What is it?

    10 Turn Alibaker

Q10. Its short when early
     Long when late
     From something tangible it
     Takes it's shape

     What is it

     7 A shadow [/red]

and finally one that I cannot work out the answer given so you'll just have to trust me on this one

Q11. A clock that loses 10 minutes every hour is set correctly at 10:00. What is the correct time when the clock next reads 10:00

     15

GOOD LUCK

PS YES TINK, I THINK I'VE ASKED THE QUESTIONS CORRECTLY
