thats very cheap, shame every thing else is expensive in the village then we would not have to go to supermarkets.

is it easy to exchage money in the village? if so do they have a good rate and do you get charged commission? do they like sterling like the big resorts?

I havent a clue  where this idea of everything being expensive in the village has come from!

Virtually all prices are almost the same as in Fethiye. Maybe a few lira here and there but I can tell you for a meal, a beer etc its very comparable to Fethiye without the hassle fumes crowds and stuffy heat

people have been telling me to go to the supermarkets for our provisions because the stores in the village are quite expensive, bearing in mind we are going to be 10 adults, who enjoy a beer so we will need a few packs and quite a lot of food.

I understand what you are saying and with 10 adults it could add up. Personally I find that if we were to get the dolmus to Fethiye, then have to drag all the stuff back to Uzumlu, I would rather pay an extra few lira. Everbody to their own. Are you staying in a couple of houses?

Just get a local taxi, agree on a price before you get in and off you go. Apart from price, you'll get way more choice. Use Uzumlu to buy bread, and local wine (better than harpic for the bathroom).
