30 day account ?
« on: September 05, 2009, 18:41:42 PM »
i have a 30 day account and ive been told it is best if you only withdraw money the day after the interest has been paid each month. or you loose the interest for the previous month. can you put money into the account at any time or can you only put it in on a certain day of the month , so as not to loose interest. if you follow what i mean . thanks

You can't put money in or take any out without loosing the interest for that month, only on the monthly anniversary date

Hi. What is the interest rate on a Garanti account please? We are thinking of transfering some of our money to an English speaking bank. Thamks. x

Hi Anne. Glad you asked that cos I was thinking it was around 11%. Just checked and it is actually 8.75%.

p.s. My 8.75% is on a sum of only 12,000ytl. I wouldn't go much higher unless I was permanently in Turkey.

The anniverary date is the date the account matures, ie the date the interest is paid, you can open the account for any number of days.
The rate at Fortis for one of my accounts on Wed last week 65,000tl was 10.75%
