Sorry for you, this has been all too frequent this year.Unfortunately, window locks, dogs, alarms, bars etc,the toe-rags doing this can get round all the above by trashing your place if they have to.Take all the precautions you can, network and look out for peoples property, get contact names and numbers for neighbours etc,and hope these scum bags get apprehended and stuck away.Personally,it needs a few of em to get bashed whilst doing it to send a message to these low lifes.I've discussed with the jandarma reasonable force, and I wouldnt want to break into my place, cause they're gonna get hurt....bad,and i'm not a violent man....normally.

Really sorry to hear about this. We know how you feel having had our place broken into last week. I too wish these scumbags get caught. If I could be alone with them in a room........

Had friends in front who had been broken into whilst in UK,patio doors being the culprit.Dealt with the jandarma etc for them, and asked them at the time as I'm out here with girlfriend and four yr old daughter.Asked him if they got into my place, would "hobbling" or similar be reasonable force, followed by eviction from my property, before ringing them.He asked if I had a gun, which I don't,but said I had a very stout, thick "broom handle",and a vice for odd-jobing.He smiled and said that I would be deemed to be using reasonable force.

A think there is a little more scope in Turkey when interpreting "reasonable force", compared with the UK where giving an intruder in your home an angry stare can be considered over aggressive behaviour.

I think you are quite correct Keith and quite rightly so, Peter so sorry to hear this, it would seem there appears to be a spate of burglaries or attempted ones at the moment, again I hope these parasites get caught.

My husband had his motorbike stolen the other day. They loaded it onto a truck and then took pieces off to sell. My husband found it (and the culprits :) the next day. We are in Tasyaka...
