I have just been told by my Travel Ins company in the Uk ( which is via my Santander Bank Account ) that when I move to Turkey I cannot use this to travel from Turkey to other countries.  Also I am unable to use it to cover me for the first 2 or 3 weeks in Turkey until I get some other cover... ie private or government cover.  Firstly can I ask.... do you just risk it until I get residency and another cover?? Do I have any other option? Also does anyone know how much you pay locally in a Travel Agent for cover when travelling from Turkey on a holiday to a foreign country for up to 14 days duration?? Your advice would be appreciated.

Are you moving to Turkey permanently or for a long break?

My company has covered my 8 month trip for just over £100 (all risks except dangerous sports & no pre-existing conditions).

If you want travel insurance for holidays STARTING from Turkey try worldnomads.com.  We have used them for holidays starting from here for the past 3 years.  Not had to claim yet (touch wood) but their site is easy to navigate around and there is all sorts of cover supported by BUPA.

We are on a trial for a year from Feb 2012, the £100 for 8 months sounds good - who is that with?
Thanks Eric will also check out worldnomads.com - cheers
