My wife things she has lost her wedding ring somewhere in the garden. Has anyone got a metal detector we can hire to try and find it?

Sadly I understand they are illegal to bring to, or own in Turkey!

Actually you can buy them here, so it must be OK for Turks to use them - any Turkish owner of metal detector fancy a 1/2 a days work?

As with most things it is probably not illegal to sell them but it is illegal to use them.

We've got one at our place in Kaya but unfortunately we're in the UK. When we brought it out it was inspected by customs but they weren't bothered about it.

You CAN buy them in Turkey but you need to be very careful where you're using them incase you're accused of attempting to steal ancient artifacts. However, I don't think you'll have a problem using one in your own garden.

In the meantime Patience don't forget to make a claim on your insurance for the lost ring, just in case it does not turn up.
