Price of Kuzu Şış
« on: June 25, 2012, 17:12:19 PM »
There are frequent posts about the price of Efes. This is fair enough since it is - more-or-less - a standard product, with the only main variation bottled/draught, apart from non-product factors such as location, view, comfort, service, friendliness and such like. I had a suspicion that "giving away" Efes for 5TL or less meant that profits had to be made elsewhere - e.g. by bumping up the price of food. But Nicola said that meals were also cheap in the area compared to elsewhere in Turkey.

So what about the price of Lamb Shish? This a a fairly standard product for us to compare. What prices in Calis and Fethiye?

P.S. In relation to the claim that 6TL for an Efes would raise the "standard" of tourists - I was in Marmaris about 3 weeks ago and every bar around the harbour and along the beach front (100+, I guess) was selling at 6TL. And see what a good quality of holidaymakers they get!

That certainly looks to be a superior kuzu şış - no doubt worth all of 18TL.

Thank you both - I too am looking forward to prices and hopefully images of other kuzu şiş kebabs from elsewhere.

I bet Ocakbaşı has a good one too for a reasonable price  :P

A restaurant we tried ourselves a couple of weeks ago in Çaliş sells the kuzu şiş for 27TL but neither of us ordered it so I can't compare.

You have picked on a good one there Colwyn. The price of Kuzu Pizola in the Supermarkets just now Over 40TL per kilo. Nicola's 18TL will take some beating.  All Kuzu cuts are top money this year.

Where I holidayed the standard price of an Efes was 7TL and a lamb shish 14/15TL. It was rumoured that the restauranteurs caucus/cabal meeting really got down to details - e.g. how many meatballs on the plate for this season!

P.S. 27TL for lamb shish seems rather high! I had an excellent, large, Steak Diane for exactly that price.
