The Beach Road
« on: September 25, 2012, 08:48:10 AM »
I noticed recently that just past the Mekan (Birlik) they have blocked the beach road to traffic with a big mound of sand/earth. Also that there seems to be a road being built further back and running towards Telmessos, past some nice villas ( many now up for sale) and beyond.

I wonder if this will be the road that links Calis to Koca Calis and the new boatyard? Anyone know what's happening with the beach road and why it's been blocked to cars? Is it to stop the locals driving down and messing up the area near Telmessos?

they also blocked access to the beach for cars outside telmessos while we were there in august, but somebody filled the ditch
in they had dug, lo and behold the next day cars were everywhere so was the broken glass and rubbish. the bins remained
empty is it against the law to put rubbish in a dustbin

We noticed the blocked access near Telmessos, didnt stay blocked for long though, agree with Paul and Barbara about the rubbish, makes you wonder what the bins are for.

I noticed the blocked roads and loads of rubbish and litter all round the beach area whilst viewing a couple of properties by where some flooding takes place.
I am not snobbish by any means but that particular koca-calis area looks and feels scruffy and neglected and I for one would not want to buy any property there unless i knew something was being done to drastically improve the area. :(

Unfortunatly most people seem to think its ok to just leave there rubbish anywhere, which is such a shame.
Having lived in this area for the last 6 years I can honestly say the rubbish problems have not improved at all but we live in hope.
There are due to be several changes to this area  ( watch this space ) so will wait and see if there are any improvements.
Having said all this I for one would never even consider living anywhere else.
It's very peacefull here and walking along the canal in the morning seeing all the wildlife and flowers along with local Turkish freinds with there cows, sheep etc is our little bit of heaven.
