Vegetarian :-)
« on: July 24, 2013, 19:11:48 PM »
Evening everyone   :)

Does anyone have any suggestions for good vegetarian food please?

I'm sure that I will be able to eat lots of different things but I really want to try some Turkish food, not chips all the time!

Thank you
Sam  ;D

My Daughter is a veggie and has been to Calis lots of times.  She always says she gets the best food in Turkey with so much choice.  For instance the mezes you get are mostly veggie.  She loves the Mozaik Bahce for lunch, as they have lots of veggie dishes.  However, she eats in Calis every night when she is over and is always pleased with all the food that is available to her.

Thank you Jacqui   :) it's good to know that I won't starve!

My husband is a big meat-eater so I'm sure he will be happy, I'm really looking forward to lots of 'mezze'!

I concur with Jaqui, I am a vegetarian and Turkey is one of the best places for vegetarian meals, delicious vegetables form the basis of many Turkish meals and mezes, one of my favourites is a kind of stew made out of chick peas (nohut), delicously done in Mozaik Bahce, or a staple in any lokantasi, many lovely fresh salads and mouthwatering breads also, mmmm......Enjoy !!

You'll get a whole new outlook on veggie food. I'm a devout meat-eater but I can spend an entire holiday eating veggie in Turkey because it's so good.

Turkey is perhaps the best place we've been for veggie food, I'm (apparently!) an absolute nightmare to travel with as I'm such a fussy eater and a vegetarian for 30 years now. Even where we are in Koca Calis  its never a problem. I'm keen to try out Mozaik Bahce though if someone could point us the right direction please. Thanks Tim and Jan

Just so everyone knows and can pass it on.  The direction to the Bahce are on their Facebook Page. It saves us going through all the directions ourselves.
For Timknight, link to directions.

Enjoy yourself, we all know you will and you will be back to this great Restaurant.

Thanks Jacqui, I know exactly where this is now, we must have walked by it dozens of times! We will definitely be paying a visit when we're over in September.

I love the lentil soup and also a cheese or vegetarian pide, and like Alan (KKOB) I'm a big meat fan. If vegetarianism became compulsory, I'd move back to Turkey  :)
