Favourite People Watching Spot
« on: October 10, 2013, 21:09:30 PM »
Another thought inspired by a different topic (pros and cons)

Where in Calis/Fethiye is or was your favourite people watching spot?

I used to love getting a table overlooking the prom at La Teras, when it was above the Bus Stop. Perfect for undetected people watching. Also Sundays would not be complete without a break for a chicken wrap, a can of Fanta Orange and a good old person watch at the Sunday Market  :)

Just talking about La Teras when we where in Calis a few weeks ago and saying it was the best place to people watch.  I also agree about the cafes at the Market too.
I like to sit at one of the restaurants on the prom at lunch time people watching is quite fun then...

Never been to the La Teras but did used to like sitting at the front of the balcony of La Terace.  ;)

Only problem was if I spotted someone I needed to speak to I was no longer quick enough to get down the stairs. :(

Also agree with the Sunday Market but failed to spot anyone we knew recently.

We like sitting in Maya but it's less populated down there.

I do apologise for using the Turkish spelling of the word, for a restaurant in Turkey  ;)

Love that spot Toky but don't you find the chairs too laid back?  It's a perfect spot to watch people coming off the water taxi and guessing if they have been to Calis before.

We like Hamsi or Nil Bar on Calis front.

Obens is relaxing too on those sofas.

In Fethiye used to love Iskele in front of the amphitheatre but since the restoration work began the traffic now races past on what used to be the wide prom/harbour.

Any of Bogasici (spell?) or Shaka are nice too.

In Hisaronu the cafe next to Goldfinger.

Olu Deniz, the Buzz Bar.

Plus of course the market cafes!

Anywhere really!   ;)

Booty in Hisaronu is good for people watching as Elvis stops so many people to ask them in.

We love sitting in the street side seats at the Tango Bar in Hisaronou
such a great mix of chavs, Turks and revellers to watch  :D
(Always leave by 10pm though - can't stand the British drunks   ;) )
