do you have any football teams in Bristol?
I'll have to ask around. I do remember that, when I shared an office with a Liverpudlian, he was asked by a visitor "What do you think of football in Bristol?" and he replied "I think it would be a good idea". But perhaps this just an old football joke.

Football - 90 minutes of 22 people pretending they're hurt.

Rugby Union - 80 minutes of 30 men pretending they're NOT hurt.

Galatasaray/Fenerbahce match nights are not nights for a quiet meal if you fancy something a bit Turkish in Fethiye. I'd make it every 3 days (+1 if there's a match on) if you want to avoid it.

I used to enjoy being amongst it  :)

The places we have found football free so far are the Meydan, Veranda, Mozaik, Kings Gardens.

There aren't so many places that don't have big screen tv's but plenty of customers for those places that don't.

Personally I can't stand restaurants with tv's, there's nothing more irritating than trying to have a conversation as people's eyes inevitably are drawn to the big screen like its some sort of drug craving.

Last restaurant we went to where the only seats available were near one of their several tv's they obligingly turned it off at my request.

If there is a match on we want to watch, we always look for a restaurant with a T.V. to watch it.  We usually eat first, as do they other people and then have a few drinks whilst watching the match.  The restaurants know a lot of customers want this service and they provide it and I am happy they do.  There are restaurants that don't show football, but particular in Calis, on match nights they are usually quite empty.  I would not criticise people who want to watch football just as I understand those who don't.  i am sure there is a place for everyone.

Thanks for all the advice, Mosaic on Saturday night.  :) Last time we were there it was very quiet so we could read our Kindles in peace.  :) What a sad pair we are.  :)  :)

Not sad at all Don, it's nice to find the place and atmosphere that suits you.

I learned quite a few years ago that people that find the preferences of others to be "sad", tend not to be qualified to make such statements, what with them not being you :D
