« on: June 04, 2014, 17:40:11 PM »
In the past 8yrs we have never been in and have often wondered what the set up is,for example can you just go for a drink,do you stay all night,is there a show,is it a restaurant,do they speak English, are tourists welcome, what's the dress code, dos and songs, best night to go,prices etc. What can we expect ?

yes you can go in just for a drink and there is normally live entertainment, you could also have a bubble pipe with various different flavours, but be warned it's not a cheap night!

It's an authentic turkish experience but can be expensive. We used to arrive early and get our spot with plenty of space to spread out but usually finished the evening completely wedged in with total strangers. If you can burst out of the spce, it's well worth joining in the dancing. Wait until there are plenty of people cavorting , then it won't matter if you don't know the steps.
Food is available buts it's difficult to eat on a table two inches off the floor
Just a normal restaurant dress code applies,
Do check your bill. Mistakes can happen as parties of people are not so clearly defined because of the communal seating arrangements.
Worth a visit
Hugh

When I last went a couple of years ago, they segregated single women so not sitting next to single men. Everyone very friendly and tried to get you to join in with the dancing

we went a few years ago with a local girl and her English boyfriend(now husband) who thought it was a rip-off and was a mix of annoyed and ashamed that the tourists were being exploited so much. A bit different but not that special we thought.
