To get back on topic, the main thing for me about the use of wooden boards instead of plates is that I like my food moist i.e. plenty of gravy/sauce.  Don't think boards have the same capacity as plates!!.  However I do agree with one of the previous posts we can take hygiene a little too far, which weakens our resistance to any new germs.  Most of todays children are mollycoddled too much, imo, and need to get out in the garden and dig up some worms!!

Yep, I like me gravy so much I always have my meals in a bowl.

And before anyone makes any comments about age, inability to feed meself with out making a mess, using a bib etc. you can go away in short jerky movements.
