Kokoreç - Anywhere.

Each Kokoreç establishment has a slightly different way of preparing and presenting it and, so far, I haven't had one I didn't thoroughly enjoy.

Can you describe what this dish is please KKOB? :-\

Sheep's intestines usually cooked on a griddle, sometimes on skewers, finely chopped, spiced and served either in a half-loaf with salad or on a plate with salad together with pickled chillies, carrot, red cabbage, gherkins etc. A large glass of freshly made Ayran makes it even more authentic.

There are variations of this throughout Turkey, the Balkans and the Middle East.

My favourite is a good range of freshly made meze, 8 - 10 dishes, accompanied by a small bottle of of raki and taken at a leisurely pace. With perhaps some inegol kofte to follow if I am still hungry enough.

For reasons unknown, I've never eaten at Pines restaurant, today we went for lunch on the recommendation of our friend Jeanette. I couldn't resist the specials board. Lovely tender pork chop served on a bed of fresh shredded cabbage, cooked in Apple scrumpy sauce with nice chunks of cooked apple, candied walnuts (delicious) two slices of black pudding and a host of really fresh cooked vegetables.

As most of you know, I don't go out very often but this was one of the most delicious meals I've eaten here. BTW. Chris had the roast pork Sunday lunch which came with a beer and a sweet, again delicious and cost only 15 lira.
