If electronic items are packed in hold luggage for return journey, some are being asked to remove and turn them on. Perhaps easier to keep in hand luggage until through the first security when you enter the airport and then open case and put in. I have seen some people trying to find iPads etc I. Their hols luggage at that first security and it is not always easy to do. Little space there. Impossible to say what percentage are being asked to do this but last Friday evening I saw quite a few doing this. Power packs seem to be another problem, none over the stated size can be taken either in the hold, nor in the cabin.
