Fethiyespor made it 4 games (in all competitions) without a win as they lost 2-1 at home to high flying Kirklarelispor this afternoon. Fethiye started well with Metin Sevinc shooting just wide after 2 mins,Berat Tosun sending a header over the bar after 4 mins, and Yigit Gokoglan firing straight at the keeper on 10 mins.
Fethiye were made to pay for missing those chances as the visitors took the lead on 22 mins with their first real shot on goal. Just before half time Umut Sozen equalised for Fethiye with his 2nd goal of the season. However the visitors regained the lead just before the hour mark when Fethiye keeper Eser Altin parried a fierce shot straight into the feet of Cici who scored from 6 yards.Fethiye never really looked like coming back on level terms again and the match finished 2-1.
Fethiye remain 14th in the league just 3 points above the bottom 3.They have a tough away game next weekend at 6th placed Sakaryaspor who are unbeaten at home this season and boast the league's meanest defence, with just 9 goals conceded.

Still no news on a new Technical Director for the club, but Fethiyespor have been accused of trying to poach 55 year old Levent Eris from Gumushanespor, who was in charge when they beat Fethiye 2-0 earlier in the season. Yesterday the club issued a statement saying " they are not able to negotiate with any T.D. who has a contract but we have the right to negotiate with any T.D. who resigns or does not have any club."
Coincidentally Levent Eris resigned on Monday after Gumushanespor had won 2-0 at home on Sunday which took them to the top of the Lig 2 table.

Manager-less Fethiyespor made it 3 defeats in 3 games when they lost 3-1 away to Sakaryaspor this afternoon. The hosts took the lead after only 4 mins but Fethiye equalised 3 mins later when Metin Sevinc scored his first goal for the club. Parity only lasted 8 mins before Beykan Simsek put the home side back in front. Thats the way the score stayed until 5 mins from the end when Sakarya added a third to keep them in the hunt for a play-off place. Fethiye remain 14th in the league as all 4 teams below them lost this weekend.
A must win home game next weekend when they face 2nd from bottom side Silivrispor who have only won 1 match and drawn 3 all season.

Fethiyespor unveiled their 3rd Technical Director of the season (so far    ;) ) this afternoon. As expected former Gumushanespor boss Levent Eris signed a 1.5 year contract with the club. The 55 year old from Izmir was a former midfielder and played for Turkey's U-18 and U-21 sides. In his managerial career this is his 17th club in 18 years as a coach. However he is one of a select number of managers to have won promotion to the Super Lig with 2 different clubs. In addition he has guided Gumushane to the top of Lig 2 this season, and they are currently 17 points above Fethiyespor.
Good luck to him and 3 points on Sunday would do nicely please.

Two individual pieces of brilliance from Umut Sozen brightened up a drab game this afternoon as Fethiyespor recorded their first win in 5 league games. A very poor Silivrispor side were reduced to 10 men after 39 mins when Ates was shown a 2nd yellow card. A couple of mins later Sozen got his 3rd goal of the season when his shot from just outside the box was perfectly placed over the keeper and into the top right of the net.His 2nd goal after 66 mins was even better, 30 yards out, again to the keepers right. A third goal came on 81 mins when 17 year old Mugla born Anil Aricioglu scored his first goal for the club.
A good start for new boss Levent Eris. Fethiye remain 14th in the league but now have a 4 point cushion over the bottom 4 teams. An away game next weekend at 5th placed Bandirmaspor. Fethiye do not have a very good record at this ground, having lost on all of their last 5 visits there.

Fethiyespor fans get everywhere. This intrepid supporter took in the Southampton vs Everton game last weekend and got a selfie on the pitch at St.Mary's.
