Any lastest news / updates re calis childrens expedition
« on: February 04, 2018, 20:10:48 PM »
Looking on the CBF search for certain photos I came across loads of photos of the brilliant expedition carried out up into the hills to  build / repair and take gifts / items to these real needy schools and children  members and the childrens group charity..
the smiles on the childrens faces when getting the gifts are pure magic

I know  its a few years ago my question has anyone visited there in recent times or had any updates I would be interested to know as I am thinking about going up there for a few days when were in calis next

I totally agree blueclad, it would be great to see the effect it's had on the kids and whether it's encouraged others

to expand on the works carried out through the generosity of CBF and 3cs doners.

I was on the committee when this school (Bozalan) The 3cs helped but it was instigated originally by Keith whose idea was to completely rebuild a full school.. The idea was to raise the money in installments but in the event the whole amount was raised in a few weeks.. The 3cs have since then helped dozens of other schools and individuals and families.. Unfortunately their committee members like the other charities are now depleted.. I would think it unlikely that they would have the time or manpower to go all the way out there now.. Fethiye Lovers provided us with free transport at the time.. Scunner put a video on You Tube. Here is what happiness sounds like.. We were all in tears as was he on the day.. We did a few follow up visits and it absolutely did change their lives.  The majority of the original kids will now be grown up and have left the school..
Just another thing to say.. You are not allowed to visit schools in Turkey without prior permission from The Belidiye and the head of the school..

We met many disadvantaged children and had many memorable and emotional moments in the eight years that we were part of the 3Cs committee but Bozalan has to be one of the most fulfilling and uplifting experiences of our time with the charity  and one that we are extremely  proud to have been part of. The response from CBF members was both amazing and touching and shows just how much can be achieved.
