We have finally bought a new home in Calis! We will be coming to live here at the start of May, with our two cats! All the questions, worries, legalities, etc are behind us! Thanks to the Calis forum, we have found many answers to our questions. My husband Alf and I are in the position that we have both retired, will have no mortgage, money to get interest, a pension, and live comfortably. In our search to buy a property, we were given advice such as rent first, see if you like it, but we made our own minds up, and wanted to buy, so we did! 8)

Hi Janbee, Congrats on your new home and I have no doubt you will love your new life here. Hubby and I made the move to live here full time on the 28th April last year, loving everything about the lifestyle so far.Now that the weather has picked up we sit on the terrace and think how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful place. Paradise indeed.

Congrats on your decision to take the plunge. We sold everything in the UK 5 years ago and came to Fethiye, had a few ups and downs but we feel really lucky to be able to live in such a lovely town. Absolutely NO plans to return to UK anytime soon.

Congratulations Janet,
We sold up and moved here nearly 6 years ago, and still love it. Like others, a few small hiccups, but thankfully nothing major. We also found lots of great information thanks to this forum. Good luck and enjoy your new life here.

Lucky you both, we purchased our place in Ovacik some 3 years ago and get out as often as we can, I retire in 2 years and plan to spend 6-9 months a year out in Turkey.

We've been here just over 5 weeks and loving it, no regrets. We have now applied for our residency, and collect our books in a couple of weeks. Our two cats have settled down but have no wish to go out! We're gradually turning our apartment into a home. Wished we had taken the plunge and come out sooner! We've also got the benefit of a swimming pool, and have got to know and like our neighbours.
