I went in to my local tonight with 3 friends (one of them the ex manager of the pub and now a well respected manager for the same group elsewhere) and we waited over 10 mins to get served. The 'bar manager' had gone missing and left one girl in charge of the bar at 10pm (remember this was a Friday night).
When the 'bar manager' appeared a few of us let out a 'cheer' and she promptly turned around and walked away. After around 7-8 mins she returned and one of my mates told her that it was a bit off that we had had to wait nearly 10mins for a beer when she was not serving and the other girl could not cope with the demand.
She took great offense to this and promptly decided that none of us would get served again that night - effectively baring us after we had only had one beer in the pub (and we had not been anywhere else before - so it was our first beer of the night).
So there you are - some jumped up little woman has barred me from my local - a local that I have been gong to since 1991.
I even bought the one and only round !!!!!
