As a matter of fact Badger, I think they are.

When we first moved to the Highlands, whisky was by far the favourite spirit, but I don't think that is the case today.

I well remember going out with my new work colleagues for the first time and asking for a gin and bitter lemon. I was told in no uncertain terms that if I wanted a poof's drink, I'd have to order it myself. I suppose the green velvet jacket and platform shoes might well have had something to do with that. Platform shoes didn't arrive in the Dingwall shops until 1980.

PS Yes Scunner they were the banana split ones ;)

I have Polish friends who bring along vodka then we all sit drinking whisky (mine).
