A year ago [ {A Link to an old CBF topic was here - no longer available}27877 ] I had the unfortunate duty to inform you that Dry Blackthorn had been removed from the market to be replaced by Blackthorn a weaker and sweeter substitute designed to compete with the Strongbow and Magners stuff that is, apparently, "enjoyed" by Southerners and Northerners and other folk whose palates have not been educated in real cider.
As I predicted, sales of this new stuff nose-dived in the West Country, and especially so in Bristol, so that the present owners - Gaymers - have recanted, apologized, and re-introduced Dry Blackthorn following the original recipe. It has been reinstated at my local. However, I am told that this is only available in the West Country, so you will have to come down here to enjoy the real stuff.
