My friend and his wife moved to Jackson in New Hampshire a few years back to run a guest house - and yesterday they had some guests return for the new season. The mum comes every year and this time she brought her kids:

Pookie -  Black Bears are quite tolerant of humans and they are often in John's garden looking for food. Their little dog sometimes gets a little too close though and gets a whack from the mum.

No problem. We stayed there two years ago and went for a walk hoping (sort of) to run into some Black Bears but we couldn't find any. I had prepared with spare pants and everything ;-)
