I read that the feeling in some quarters is that economies need to be robust and more like the power house German economy. I wonder, when the politicians look at the abyss that may well be facing the UK, do they now ever regret all those multi million pound aerospace, shipbuilding and transportation contracts that they gave to the Germans and the like - and not to our own factories, workers and indeed communities that are now heading for mass unemployment and hopelessness.
