Life perspective
« on: February 06, 2013, 22:28:16 PM »
I opened Facebook this morning and saw that a good friend of mine, who is 34, supports Liverpool (ST holder) and needs a heart transplant - had a stroke last night!

Thirty bloody four!

He's been ill for years and its never stopped him supporting the club he loves. Never stopped him disliking Manu. Never stopped him going to the local for a few beers and some footy banter, and never stopped him working and being positive about life - even though he knows that even with a transplant it's not going to be a long life for him.

It's really put things in perspective for me today.

Aw stoop - I am so terribly sorry to read that post :(

Thirty bloody four sums it up completely. Doesn't such thing make you feel so, so angry !!!!

I wish your friend the very best.

Cheers H!

I've just been in the local and people are so sad. Ok he could have cut down on the nights out and the beer etc but I think his attitude is to live life to the full while he can.

It annoys me so much that some people just do nothing but complain about life.

I agree puma.

The strength of the human spirit in some people is nothing short of amazing.

It is a privilege to witness it.

Agreed H!

I will never forget the strength of one of our neighbours in Turkey. He travelled there to sign over his house to his wife so that she wouldn't have problems when he passed away. As they were going home he walked towards our villa, having achieved his goal, and looked like he was ready to depart this world.

However his inner strength got him across the grass, onto the bus,  to Dalaman and to survive the flight to Manchester. Once there he was taken straight to hospital where he died.

What a man and what a strong man to go through the pain he did so that his beloved wife would not suffer after he had gone.

Mind over matter if ever I saw it.

I really think that the older and wiser you get,you learn to appreciate what life gives you, even for a short time. Life can be very cruel but we just have to gain strength and carry on as painful as it is.
