Maybe planes should have extra stomach room seats as well as extra legroom.    ;) It would be awful being sat next to someone like that.
Seems a bit unfair if they charged extra for pregnant women not being sexist but they would take up more room

Yes, but being pregnant is not an illness it's a natural condition and  heavily pregnant woman are not allowed to fly anyway, so a nine month pregnant woman is not going to be travelling. Being grossly obese and travelling is a different matter.

It does really annoy me when I've juggled my luggage and not been able to squeeze in an extra kilo of cheese when I see really large people.
But if I eat too much cheese I could end up paying extra for being fat, hmmm.

Some people are obese due to medical conditions or even medication, are these people to be exempt or made to buy 2 seats?
If this is being introduced to control the weight in the aircraft, I cant see how some people can be exempt.

Weight is weight and if it is for aircraft safety reasons then of course the weight of the passengers is far more relevant than the weight of they bags. I think I would suffer if I travelled alone but when I think how much my kids weighed in all our UK - Turkey journeys (ticket price not a penny cheaper) then overall I think I would have been able to bring loads more cheddar cheese and ham with us to Turkey  :)

If aircraft seats were a more realistic size we wouldn't have this problem.   As for charging per kilo of personal weight, that is yet another way to screw us for money.
Have to say am disappointed at some attitudes towards larger people.  I believe the average aircraft seat is around 17ins width so not surprising some 'spill over'.  If the chap mentioned earlier was so huge, agree he should have booked 2 seats rather than the embarrassment of not fitting into one.  Seat belts....now there's another tale.  They vary so greatly that even slightly chubby people can struggle.
Have a heart folks, not everyone has a boney bum and stick-like arms    ;)

And there is one arm rest for every two people - how can that possibly work?
