Natural remedies.
« on: April 21, 2014, 00:20:56 AM »
As I am laid up here in the Uk, chomping at the bit to get back toTurkey, I got to thinking. What natural/homeopathic remedies have you heard of that are supposed to make you heal faster.
Couple of Turkish ones from cookery class. Village women squeeze the juice of a mushroom in ears for ear complaints. When it,s a young girl,s special time of the month they put cinnamon on bananas to eat to alleviate cramps.
I have read something  previously about parsley and broken bones but can,t find it again.
What tips do you have  8)

Check this link from a favourite web site of mine Bernie... You will have to scroll down to read the following quote...

"Note that the same green leafy vegetables that are our best sources of vitamin K are also very good to excellent sources of calcium and magnesium, the two most important minerals for building strong bones."

Vitamin K found in leafy greens are excellent for many aspects of our health. A second more comprehensive list listing nutritional ratings can also be found further down the page.

Keep a small bag of flour in the fridge for use when you have burned your hand on the oven. just put your hand in the cold flour for a few mins, and you have no blistering and it heals really quickly.

If you have a wart, put half a potato in a sock and bury it in the garden.

I thought it was steak which you rubbed on a wart and buried in the garden.  Incidentally, apparently if you handle raw egg shells, they will cause warts!  :-\

If you swallow chewing gum, it will stick to the inside of your stomach.

I am afraid, due to experience that the only thing you can do for the first 6 weeks is to rest and wriggle your toes as much as possible, as soon as you get the plaster off go to physio and do all the exercises they give you as much as possible, then when you are mobile get moving and ignore the pain, you are strong you can do it  :)
