Ben E King Dies

Great R&B singer Ben E King has died at the age of 76. Starting in the Drifters, his most famous song was "Stand By Me" was covered by scores of other singers (and Cassius Clay - and surprisingly well!). But the song that always sends a shiver up my spine is "Spanish Harlem". RIP Ben E King.

A big favourite of mine, I was a great fan of the Driters in my younger days, a sad day for genuine music lovers but his music will live on.

Very sad news indeed, Ben E King and the Drifters still big favourites of ours since our younger days in the 60's too.  Great music like theirs will live on for many years to come.
