Anyone keep up the tradition of baking pancakes these days? I do coz I love homemade ones.

Mine are the Scotch pancake kind or griddle scones as they are also known by, not the crepe type that can be tossed.

We were in Northern Ireland for a long weekend and did a bit of discoverisation of the Antrim coast - including the Giant's Causeway etc, and stopped for lunch in the famous distillery town of Bushmills - where I selected a traditional Ulster Fry. It was fabulous but I was surprised to see amongst pile a large pancake (of the Scottish type you mention). It was quite sweet and a very odd thing to have with bacon and sausage etc, but I have to say totally delicious

I've heard of people frying them for brekkie Keith but never tried it myself.

Potato scone, yes but never a griddle scone. Would be too sweet for me I think.

Yes it had all the potato scone and soda bread, but the pancake too. Had I been given the choice I would almost definitely asked for it not to be included as I am no fan of them, but actually I would have missed out on something surprisingly nice - don't knock it till you've tried it Tokes
