Didn't trust anyone very much: not agents, not managers, not other hangers-on. On tour just booked two, adjacent airline seats - one for him, one for his guitar. Got his backup band selected (and paid for) by the tour organizers: "Just make sure they know my stuff!". I'm sure he recorded "My Dingaling" to show you could make a shed-load of money by selling cr*p to people who don't know better - and to make a shed-load of money, of course. RIP.

I saw him live several times and believe he deserved the description as a "legend". A true one of a kind Blues Star. RIP.

Ironically, this was the B side to Mary Whitehouse's favourite Chuck Berry song - mind you, as Billy Connolly once said in reference to her high moral stand against anything slightly risque "I wouldn't be too happy either if my surname rhymed with toilet" :)
